Keep in mind I’m only a HS Senior, but from what i heard on the tour is A. the main rec hall is usually a pain because it’s so full, and B. the indoor track doesn’t require a gym membership to use. Correct me if thats wrong but it’s what I heard

The Rec Hall track is open to everyone and generally is not that heavily used. (There are times when the running classes use the track and it is best if you can avoid them.) There s another (better) track in the Multi Sport Facility but it’s farther from central campus and only available to regular students for during limited hours.

well that’s great bc i really don’t want to wait in line for 45 min for a treadmill :)

There is a nice running trail around the golf courses which are right across the street from rec hall. A group of older runners heads outside from Rec Hall every day at noon; they are always amused to see students waiting for a treadmill when the weather outside is fine. ;)

is the rec hall close to pollock dorm halls?

Not particularly, but it isn’t as far as East. And it isn’t “the rec hall” it’s “Rec Hall”. The White Building (which has a lot of aerobics classes, etc.) is closer to Pollock, and the IM building is also a choice. The new track is far, but on the Loop.

If they are going to re-name anything at PSU they should change the name of Rec Hall to (Russ) Rose Hall.

there are 4 “gyms” a fitness loft in the nat by east, the IM building by east, the white building by the hub, and Rec hall by west. rec and white are the most crowded because they are the best for weights, the fitness loft and IM gyms are small and the loft is only cardio equipment

The gyms have a ton of treadmills so even its crowded, you won’t have to wait more than a few minutes. Usually you can walk right onto one. Try to go at a time that’s less crowded
