Not necessarily true. I come from a private Miami school that is highly esteemed, and there are some students that did not make it in. Don’t bash the school just because they give opportunities to students who do not necessarily have incredibly high test scores – they believe in the potential of students.

I am in the FIU honors program for Pre-Med, and I am highly satisfied. I made it to Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame but was not given much financial aid, and my mother who is single cannot pay a $50,000 tuition. I picked FIU because I receive an average of $15,000 every year EXTRA-- it gets sent to my bank account-- because I got full ride to FIU, books and everything paid. That money I will save and use it to at least pay one year of Medical school for graduate school – Johns Hopkins is my #1 choice for that. College isn’t like high school, it’s not about the school, its about your efforts and the imprint that you leave. I came from an esteemed all girls private school and had financial aid there too, because it basically costs more than FIU. BEST DECISION I’VE EVER MADE. Great teachers, great environment, great opportunities for research, etc.
