Fordham Climbs in Influential Collegiate Ranking

Fordham usually climbs up a couple spots each year on this list, which some people take incredibly seriously while others shrug it off. Either way, it's nice to see Fordham's continuing efforts to improve academically recognized on lists like these.

According to the list, Fordham is considered the 56th best research university overall, the 4th best Catholic college, and the 3rd best Jesuit university.

I especially liked this statistic mentioned in the article: "Fordham also earned the distinction of being one of eight schools in the top tier that has no more than 1 percent of its classes larger than 50 students. In fact, 50 percent of the Universitys classes had 20 students or fewer." It shows Fordham's dedication to academics and intellectual life. If this was given more weight in the rankings, instead of statistics like the percent of students admitted and how big the endowment is, Fordham's profile would definitely rise. It's a better indicator of the quality of the education, and not just the prestige of the school, in my opinion.

Hopefully, if this trend continues, Fordham may crack the top 50 in a year or two!
