FL schools with Industrial/ Product design?

Hi!
Does anyone know of any FL schools offering Industrial/ Product design as a major? Try as I might, I just cannot find any undergrad programs (other than the Art Institutes) offering this major! I keep thinking I must be missing something… Am I doomed to pay OOS tuition for my daughter? Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Using UF as an example, you could major in Graphic Design:

And then combine it with design projects, like the following:

If you do end up looking out of state, Auburn has a program, and with a fairly high ACT score, it can be very affordable.

Thank you for the suggestions, Gator88NE! I had no idea the IPPD program existed… will call today to see if it is restricted to Engineering students or open to other disciplines too… That might be a good option… And yes, Auburn and University of Cincinnati seem like they have the most reasonable OOS tuition… I cant believe that among the many, many FL schools, not one offers Industrial design as a major!! And no reciprocal agreement with other states either :frowning:

I was going to ask about the reciprocal agreements :frowning:

UF has lots of multidisciplinary teams that work on “projects”. The IPPD is open to engineering and business majors, but you should ask if a graphics design major can participate. I would also recommend talking with someone about the Graphic Design major. How flexible is it, and what type of project teams (on campus) and internships do they typically join/get? They may have different versions of the “IPPD”, that we don’t know about.

Thanks for the suggestions @Gator88NE ! I will certainly call the department and ask about a design related IPPD experience and see how flexible they would be in allowing us to cobble together a pseudo Industrial design program!
