Fletcher Hall

I just got placed into a triple at Fletcher Hall for this coming school year. I’ve read A LOT of negative things about Fletcher (mostly the location), but that honestly doesn’t seem too bad to me. I was wondering if anyone could let me know what thr main vibe of Fletcher is and just what they’ve heard either from friends who’ve lived there, personal experience living there, or just what they hear around campus. Thank you and Go Blue !!

I’m a parent of a soon-to-be-sophomore. All I have is word of mouth.

The location is a mixed bag. You will have to walk to the South dining hall, but OTOH, you’re right across the street from the IM building and I count that as a plus. I’ve also heard some not so nice things about the bathrooms, no A/C, no elevators, and if you’re an engineering student, getting to North Campus will take a bit longer than say the West/East/South quads. Getting to the Big House, Crisler and Yost is quick and easy.

I think the “community” of Fletcher will change each year and will depend pretty much on the kids you’re placed with there.

I just don’t know if you’ll get anyone to switch you, other than North Campus students. And I’d probably stay where you are in Fletcher, than switch to Bursley or Baits.
