Florida Resident Freshman Admission Scholarships Question

Hi.

Does anyone here know if the Freshman Admission Scholarships (USF Presidential, USF Directors, USF Scholars) use super scores for their SAT requirements?

Thanks

It is

We do!

Thank you @RealAcadAdvisor

I have another question if you don’t mind. My daughter’s November SAT score was just released this morning. She now has a 1280. It was 1250 when she was accepted for admittance at USF so she was not originally given a scholarship. She has over a 4.2 USF calculated GPA. 1280 is the minimum score for the Florida resident’s “Scholar” freshman admission’s scholarship. Now that she has that, will she be given that scholarship automatically? Or do we need to contact and/or petition admissions for her to receive that scholarship?

Thanks again!

@livingis2me: Q. How can I be considered for a higher scholarship?
A. Students are automatically considered for upgraded scholarships from November-February. Standardized tests (SAT/ACT) taken in December or earlier and received by the scholarship deadline are used in scholarship consideration. Later tests and senior year grades will not be used. Students will be notified via postal mail if they are offered an upgraded award.

Q. If I submitted updated test scores or transcripts, when will I know if I will receive a higher scholarship?
A. Students are automatically considered for upgraded scholarships from November-February. Students will be notified within that timeframe if they qualify for a higher award.

Q. If I believe I meet the requirements for a scholarship, but was not awarded, who should I contact?
A. Please contact your admissions advisor or scholarships@usf.edu if you have questions about your scholarship eligibility.

@RealAcadAdvisor Thank you for your expertise. My daughter’s admission scholarship showed up on her portal today.

It looks as if USF is her school! She was accepted into the dance program through audition. Since the audition, she has felt great about going to her home town school. I think she’s actually going to cancel her dance audition at FSU, which is the dance program that she’s wanted to attend since she was in middle school. She just felt so good about the faculty at USF. Her dance school owner and several of her dance teacher’s are USF dance alumni have been talking the program up to her so much. I think the scholarship really clinched it for her.

@livingis2me Florida residents are fortunate to have several great schools from which to choose! Best wishes…

Curious, as well, about the FL Resident Scholarships. Are the GPA requirements for the Presidential Scholarship set in stone? I have a 4.1 GPA, but at Jesuit, and will have had 7 AP classes and the rest Honors classes at graduation. I received a 1510 on SAT and 35 on ACT. Thanks!

Criteria are “set in stone,” but we recalculate every HS GPA and weight courses (+.50 for HS Honors; +1.0 for AP/DE/IB/AICE).

thank you!

@RealAcadAdvisor regarding post #8

Is the merit scholarship matrix. (GPA/Test Score/$) available for reference?

@RealAcadAdvisor regarding post #10 - I think I found the table - nevermind

To those posting answers here thank you very much! Very helpful. My son checked his portal and was very pleased to see his award.

Received the letter with award this week!

Of course we still have been unable to prove that we are FL Residents, even after living here for 30 years lol
