I am a Florida state high school student and I wanted to know what my chances were for getting into FSU.
I have a 3.3 unweighted GPA and a 4.6 Weighted GPA.
I Have 2 years of Chorus, until they shut it down, 2 years of GSA, and one year on the literary magazine.
I have a 1760 SAT and I plan on retaking it again in the fall of my Senior year.
AP Human- 3
AP Environmental-3
AP English Lang-5
I also took APUSH and AP world but only got 2's on those.
My senior Schedule:
AP Psychology
AP Biology
AP English Lit.
AP Macroeconomics

Dual enrollment:
Fall: Pre-calculus Algebra and Trig.
American Sign Language 1
Spring:
Calculus 1
American Sign Language 2
and Micro economics

I know its a lot to look at but I am concerned that my math level isnt very good, and although I took 2 and a half years of ASL , I got a D for ASL 2. I would really appreciate it if someone were to chance me :) Thank You

I may also be taking one more AP next year, and the Dual Enrollment classes are tentative at the moment .

You can overcome one D as long as all your other dual enrollment, AP and Honors classes are A’s and B’s…and you’re doing the right thing course-rigor wise. However, your SAT score is an issue, you need to be over 1800 solid to feel better. I would also highly recommend the ACT as you never know. FSU super scores both so that can help you focus on your weaker sub scores. Be sure you meet the early application deadline, and consider applying to start in Summer.

That’s really helpful, thank you :). I have mostly A’s and B’s for my AP classes, but I got a C as my final grade for AP English Lang and AP World History. My AP English 9-weeks grades weren’t very good but I got an A on my final exam and a 5 for my score, so i’m not sure what that reflects. I’m going to be a senior next year, and I plan on taking the earliest SAT available, but i’m not sure about the ACT because i’ve never taken it before. I also got a C in chemistry honors.I heard that if you apply to the fall term that they also consider you for the summer term if you’re borderline. Would it be best to apply to fall ?

Good quesiton on the Fall vs. Summer application - I believe it used to matter more, you may want to ask someone in admissions that question before you apply. And regarding the ACT, just take it cold turkey to see how you do - you have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. Just don’t have it automatically sent to FSU when you fill out your answer sheet, they don’t receive the scores automatically unless you tell ACT to send them on test day or after…why wouldn’t you take it when there are zero negative consequences and only upside? What do you mean by “not very good” in AP English - did you make a C or D? If you got a 5 on the AP test, that is excellent and all that matters - in fact most high schools will go back and change your HS course grade to an “A” if you get a 5 on the AP test, you might want to look in to that…either way, make sure FSU knows you got a 5 when you apply.

You’re right about the ACT, i could just study and see what I get. No downside. I got a D for the 2nd and 4th nine weeks, and a C for the 1st and 3rd, i moved half way during the year. Also, how could I be able to let FSU know I got a 5? wouldn’t I just send them the scores and then they would know? Also, thank you for the advice :)

sorry for asking so many questions, i’m just very nervous and really really want to go to FSU. :)
