I am looking to apply to one of these schools. I am a biology major going to do pre-med. can you give me any useful information about either of these schools regarding their pre-med program?

If you are in-state then FSU hands down

The schools are completely different. All I can tell you is that being a pre med major or hard science major in Boston is unparalleled. You have the best med schools and best research labs here to do work and research before you are applying to med schools. At NU you also do 0-3 co ops where you can work in labs. I know friends who have worked in labs at Harvard, MIT, Beth Israel, Mass General, or research here at NU.

but is the money really worth it? NEU is so expensive for the type of education they offer. And I will be paying so much for med shcool.

why fsu hands down? because of the money since its in-state?

It is my understanding that med school admissions is about GPA/MCAT. Assuming a B+and higher GPA and hitting say 66th percentile of a school’s MCAT school, I don’t think undergrad institution (at a fully accredited college/university) or research experience is a factor. Afterall, most doctors are clinicians not researchers.

I agree, assuming it is cheaper or the same proce, Florida State will give an AWESOME college experience and is more well known as an added bonus.

I wanna study Mechanical engineering.
What are the requests in Florida?

If you are from Florida, I do wholeheartedly recommend FSU. It will be cheaper than Northeastern (I find Northeastern’s financial aid to be rather poor.)

And, since you will be pre-med, it doesn’t matter what school you go to for your undergraduate, just be sure to do well academically and apply to medical school later.

For engineering, run as far as possible from Florida State. It shares an engineering school with FAMU, one of the worst schools in the country. UF is top dog in Florida, but USF is awesome too and UCF is pretty good.
