Accepted to both for mayor in Marketing and minor in Finance. Concordia apparently has a very good B-School (John Molson School of Business), but FSU seems to have a better reputation in the US. Which will be better to continue a career in business and to go to a prestigious Graduate Business School?
I am an international student, which place would be better?
The rules for work permission for international students while they study, and after they graduate, are much less restrictive in Canada than in the US. It will be easier for you to get good work experience while you are studying, and it will be more likely that you can find a long term position after graduation.
Admission to top MBA programs is based on grades, GMAT score, letters of recommendation, and work experience. Where you went for your undergrad degree doesn’t matter nearly as much as your work experience after graduation.
If you’re a green card holder, you’re a permanent resident of the US, not an international, and as such you MUST stay in the US for a certain number of says each year or you lose it. In that case, I’d recommend FSU.
Molson IS a great business school which enjoys a great reputation in Canada, plus Montreal being bilingual would be good (you could add French to your list of skills).
Essentially: cold and cosmopolitan, or hot and college town?
