I got academically dismissed this past spring and am hoping to get back into school Fall 2015 at a different location of my university. I know people usually attend community college and then try to transfer but I’ve already finished four years of school (changed my major so I still have two more years) it just seems like a waste of money since there really aren’t any classes that would go towards my degree (art history). Is attending community college my only option for now? Any other advice?
Did your letter of dismissal say they would let you back in after a certain number of years? Waiting until that time is another option. You are right that community colleges are unlikely to offer the classes for your major. Any work you can do in your field until your old university lets you back in?
