I know there are a lot of CC'ers who've taken FLVS classes the summer before their senior year here. During this summer I'm taking AP Microeconomics and AP Government on FLVS (I started in June). I plan to finish the course before July 10 by (as another person on this form), "blitzkrieging" it.

BUT before I try it I have a lot of questions (that I'm really dying to learn the answers to, really):

When I complete the course before July's end, will the grade show up on my transcript in time for college admissions?

I understand the course will not be counted as AP credit yet (CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG) until I take the AP Test. However, will colleges (like FSU, specifically) who recalculate the GPA count the course as an AP class when recalculating (even if my school doesn't)?

^ Will the class at least show up on my transcript if I finish it before I take the AP Test?!

It may or may not count. This depends on your school so ask your councelor.

Yes, it does not count untill you take the AP exam. If you take an AP class through flvs and do not take the exam, then the class will count as an honors credit.

It should show up but this really depends on your school.

I just finished micro and macro econ this morning. My school puts summer classes on transcripts by the 2nd week of school.

Apparently other people say that after taking an AP course the course showed up on their official transcript before the AP Exam within weeks after finishing the course.

So DOES it in fact show up on the transcript, but is just not calculated into the GPA?

It will show up on your transcript and be weighted as an Honors course if you finish before the exam and stay that way UNTIL you take the AP Exam that is when the extra AP Weight will be calculated into your gpa

I was given contradictory information by my counselor, but one thing is clear - see your counselor to confirm :)! I would hate to mislead the OP :(.

@Weeknd - I really hope that’s the way it’ll happen at my school. So will like, say, FSU see the course as AP Microecon. and weight it appropriately or will it stay weighted as an honors (since I don’t take the test until May)?

@IceQube - Yeah I’m going to ask my guidance counselor on Monday (once I can figure out who it’ll be. You had me freaking out for a second - I was going to drop the AP classes and take Honors for the time being lol. And once I get confirmation the lighting strike shall begin.

@IceQube: Already took World History, regrettably not AP though because we don’t have it.
She was the teacher who taught us about Blitzkrieg and all that, plus I have her for a class this year so i’ll be sure to drop the term. It’ll crack her up.

Hey guys, just found out that FLVS does send off the final grades as soon as you finish the course, but it is up to the school board / guidance counselor as to how the grade will be handled.

The guidance counselor could choose to place it on my transcript, but only weight it as honors and give it AP weight after May, or choose to just withhold it until May. I’m hoping that my guidance counselor will be nice enough to give me the honors grade for the time being!
