Next Summer I was probably going to start and try to finish two AP Courses on FLVS. Then it says the policy is you dont get AP Credit until you take the AP Exam. Well Senior grades/GPA for me freeze mid year, so would that mean I dont get the AP Credit? So taking the courses would be worthless senior year?

I was actually in this dilemma recently. Yes, AP Credits don’t get added till after the exams, both semester credits that is. It’s because FLVS doesn’t award people who don’t take the exam with an AP credit, so the day you take it, you send in this little form, and your credits will be sent.

In your case, I think what you’re saying is accurate. You may want to ask your GC about it, but from what it seems, if you’re more interested in rank/GPA than course-load, I would probably shoot for an honors course (if they are weighed the same like they are down yonder). If they aren’t, then I’d stick with AP. Truthfully, from what I’ve seen, many of them are not very difficult, and racking up AP’s on your application will help a lot.

In the end, you just have to do what you want. I’m still taking them; I may not apply with a rank above 4, but I sure as heck will graduate valedictorian (ours don’t freeze mid-year, thankfully) and that’s all I really care about. Colleges also like + AP’s, so the more you take, the higher the chances of higher level placement and possibly getting in.

Ok, I’m speaking from experience, but FLVS courses are made for you to get an A. If you don’t, that means you are lazy. No excuses.
I don’t know about you, but the AP credit does count if you pass the exam. Seniors in my school graduate early in April, so i have to come back to school in may to take my IB and AP exams.
After you sign up for the exam, and go take it and pass it, it will be good for you.
