flvs AP Bio

has anyone taken it? how hard is it? does it prepare you for the AP exam?

never take science and math classes online…just stick to my words

but…but…i rly wanna take bio… :frowning: anyone have any experience with it??

AP Bio is not that hard, just massive amounts of memorization and long hours of studying; if you can do that, you should be able to pass and at the very least score a 3 on the exam.

As for FLVS, I am not entirely sure as to what that is?

One more thing, you should probably post this on the AP section–you would get more replies.

about taking math and science online, i really disagree
granted, i have no experience with florida virtual school but johns hopkins cty has really awesome classes with live chats and virtual white board instruction. for science they have pretty cool virtual labs and such. i don’t know, but i thought they were pretty well done and they got better teachers than my lame school.

I believe four kids took FLVS AP Bio at my school this year. It’s not as in-depth as the AP Bio course at my school, but you will definitely cover all of the material needed. I’ve taken two FLVS APs before and can promise you that you will do well. It’s definitely a good idea if you have the motivation to pace yourself.

The only complaint I have about FLVS is that it is themed at a very immature level. For example, AP Macroeconomics was themed around a business trip to the Macro Islands, and the two goods of a production possibilities frontier would be, say, starfish and surfboards. Regardless, you learn the material well.

ap bio is alright,
just read all the chapters in campbell twice and take notes
and you should get a 5 easy

This forum is super old, but for those that will be reading it now…

AP Biology is a bih of a class, even in school. It’s two and a half college classes in one. There is no way you can fit all the info in a school year for the AP exam. Taking it on FLVS would be suicide unless you could read the 1,300+ page Campbell & Reece textbook and manage to absorb pretty much all of it. You have to self study chapters a lot to prepare yourself for the exam, and even self study for the stuff you will learn and be responsible for in the class. Lots of memorization and itty bitty details.

I wish whoever takes it on FLVS good luck. You’ll need it.

I will be taking AP Biology in school next year. Is it really that hard? O.o

^
Depends on the school.

What scores have people gotten taking AP Bio on FLVS?

Have you taken it, what score did you get?
