I know there's FLVS, but I heard FLVS wasn't very good for learning AP Biology.
Additionally, the pass rate for FLVS is lower than state and national averages so I'm not certain it would be a good idea.

Do you know of any others that aren't too expensive? I'm already doing JHU CTY AP Physics B and that's already been a huge cost..

I heard FLVS is above the national and state average pass rates… lol

How do you expect to do AP Biology over the summer? It is a lot of work, no? How many hours/day do you need to spend on it?

@Weeknd, it’s above the national and state average pass rates for some tests, but not all.
Look at the link, AP Biology is at the bottom and roughly 10-20% lower.

@199844, DUring the summer, I’m honestly not planning on doing anything, so I’ll have the whole day to spend on it.

AP Bio comes down to memorization if you’re good at that. I never took it, but I’m planning to take other APs at FLVS. However, I read on other boards including this one that AP Bio sucks if you’re doing it through FLVS as you read OP.

If you have lots of time to devote and motivated, I’d say go for it, but if I was in your case, I’d take another AP instead.

Also the baseline cost is the same for all AP courses on FLVS, it comes down to what you want to take.

Do you know of any other programs that offer AP Bio over the summer? Besides JHU CTY. I’ve got provisional admission for the summer program there, so I can’t take AP Bio since I already signed up for something else.

I’d like to cover all three of the sciences (Science is my favorite subject!!!)
So far I’ve got AP Physics and AP Chem covered.

Not sure OP, the only other thing I know is called Keystone School, but the cost of taking AP Bio is more than FLVS.

Darn.
The only other thing I can find besides what you have mentioned is APEX learning, and I’ve been told that it’s an absolutely terrible program.

If you take any AP Biology over the summer you will have to retain that information for 8-9 long months until you can take the AP exam which is given in May of the following year. However, if you only want the high school credit for taking the class then it won’t matter how you score on the test. If you want to do well enough on the exam to earn college credit you might reconsider taking it as a summer course regardless of where you can find it.

My memory isn’t really the problem…I self studied several memory intensive AP tests already this year. The only problem is finding the actual class which is what the purpose of this thread was.
