Hi everyone!
I’d like to know your opinion or help in my case since you guys are probably on a similar situation or know how to help me out.
A little bit about me: I’m applying at FIT as an international transfer student. I have a BS in Industrial Design from my former university in Dominican Republic and I’m applying for the accelerated AAS in FMM that they offer. My GPA is not outstanding, it’s actually below 3.0 because of a bad experience in a math class I had, but I’ve heard FIT doesn’t take that into much consideration. Another problem that I had is that my former university sent my documents a week after the application deadline so I’m no longer considered in the priority list. I did mentioned a lot of my work experience and general aspects about myself in the essay and my TOEFL scores were very high, but I don’t really know what they take into consideration for acceptance. Plus, again, I’m out of the priority list.
I’m dying of anxiety because I’ve heard a lot that FIT’s acceptance rate is very low and I wasn’t educated in the US, but what can you guys tell me? Do you think I have a chance?
I’ve considered applying to others school but to be honest FIT is at the top of my list and it’s the only one with an accelerated AAS program in FMM in the NYC area. I know Parson’s have one but it’s madly expensive and I can’t afford it.
In case I get rejected, would I be able to changue my application to evening classes or probably spring? I’m really looking forward to start this fall but the more I read the more sad I get.
