Football prices are on their way up

USC, Coliseum Commission Ink Lease

Wanna bet? Well-above inflation price increases, anyone?

Great, more money for scholarships and more money to improve this area.

Football prices were very reasonable before (something like $150 for student season tickets) and I don't think they went up at all this year.

Even if there were an increase, if it's paying for an improved Coliseum I'm all for it (along with most people, I imagine).

last year student tickets were 135...this year they were 145...up 10 dollars...not to bad considering the amazing home schedule (notre dame, cal, ohio state, oregon, ect)...and all games are first come, first serve so no more lottery...just get there early and you can get in...

What do you mean, all games are first come, first serve? If students have a season pass ($145), they get in for sure. The lottery is usually for other games like UCLA, Cal, bowl games. Did that change? Please explain.

Athletics will also be canceling the lottery for home games, including the popular Notre Dame and UCLA games.

"There won't be any reserved seating," Lopes said. "There will be enough seats for any students that purchase a ticket."

Admission to all games, including football, will now be on a first-come, first-served basis, Undergraduate Student Government President Sam Gordon, who worked with administrators on the new plan, said.
Changes for Spirit Activities Card finalized, announced - News

That was the way it was this past year for the first time, "first come, first serve"...the lottery was reserved for away games like the cal weekender...even ucla this year was not based on a lottery...I don't know if you were a student here at the time but remember the ridiculous first game last year when they removed the lottery thing and they oversold cards by 4000. At first they said they would have enough space and sell only enough cards so everyone would get in but it turned out they sold too many season tix with not enough seats. During that game they were going to let in the first 8000 and it created madness and people were trampled.

Game day angers students - News

Here is what my email said in April about purchasing a student ticket for 2008:

*The price for a student Football Season Ticket for the six home games is $145.
*This Season Ticket will provide access to the student section in the Coliseum, through your USCard. Seating location is determined on a first-come-first-served basis.
*Access to all other USC athletic events will require only your USCard. These events have limited capacity and admittance will be on a first-come-first-served basis, depending on the size of the venue and the student section.

So I am assuming that things are going to be like they were this year...hopefully they will better control the amount of tix vs seats so more people can get in....just to let you know I have never had a problem getting into any of the games so it is not that big of a deal but it is not like you can show up a few minutes before kickoff and guarantee to get in...
