Football Problem

You see, my school doesn't have a football team because it is referred as a "dangerous and frivolous sport" by my principal. And if there isn't football, there obviously isn't a lacrosse or ice hockey team (yes, ice hockey is popular in south texas). My principal is even thinking about taking the basketball team away too because of the injuries! I don't think this is fair even though I do go to a private, catholic school...am I the only one suffering this???

how is basketball dangerous?
how is football frivolous?

You can get hurt driving to school. You can get hurt crossing the street. You can get hurt doing just about anything. I think that's quite crazy

That's really crazy. I mean in a way everything can be considered dangerous.
We don't have a football either, but because of lack of interest.

You should petition or something

And this is Texas?
I thought it was considered a sin to have a high school without football there.
The principal obviously needs to look at the real world; is he going to cancel chemistry for fears of having someone spill hazardous chemicals on someone else? Will he make it illegal for cars to be driven by the school's students to and from school because he fears an accident? Will he kill a prom because he sees it as indecent? Come on, the man running your school is an out and out fruitcake with an agenda. The school should petition, and if that does not work, transfer out (I am assuming there is a public school nearby that contains such sports.) That way the school will lose its funding and be forced to accept sports as a part of the school life.
