is it possibile to wait and start a seating group once you get to school and meet your roommates? or do you have to do it as soon as possible? Also, do all freshman who want season tickets receive them?

Also, will buying tickets earlier get you a better seat?

No, yes.

No.

wet: No; Yes; No

game: No

Does it really matter if you buy tickets on your own or if you join a group?

as a transfer, I couldn't get seats next to my friends, so what I'm going to do is just sneak into their group of like 30 some people.

returning students..

do you recommend freshmen to join groups or buy alone?

Personally, I think for freshmen year if you join a seating group (and plan on actually sitting with them), you should join one with people you knew before college (from your high school or otherwise) and already have a fairly established relationship with. With all the new people you're meeting, there's no guarantee you'll still really be friends with them when the school year starts, let alone through the season. I joined a seating group with people from my orientation session and pretty much never talked to them again after orientation, and I sat by myself anyways. The best plan is to just wait until school starts, and then sit with whoever your friends are then. It's not too hard to move around in the upper levels.
