Football Tickets 2015

FYI, new students can order football tickets beginning on June 1 and need to do so by June 19. See http://www.mgoblue.com/tickets/students-new-fbl.html
They are much cheaper than last year: $175 plus $10 service charge.

What do most incoming freshmen do as it relates to tickets, especially when coming from out-of-state and not knowing many people at Michigan? Also, how does it work if someone plans on joining a sorority? Don’t they have seats together in a certain section? Do the freshman not sit in that block? Do you just sell the ticket you purchased separately?

There are assigned seats but my son said no one pays attention to that; rather most kids just sit with their friends. I am not sure how it might work for big games like Michigan State and Ohio State. But I imagine you can sit with your friends as long as you are in the same general section (where freshman are likely to be). There is a very complicated system for figuring out priority and I believe it changed again this year but you should be able to find out on the website. I believe if you do know someone you can arrange to get tickets together, but if not I would not worry about it. Unless you know someone by June 19 you just have to buy them on your own, but it won’t be a problem. That is what my S did last year and he was fine. Do NOT plan on just selling the tickets and rebuying separately (if that is what you meant). I highly recommend that everyone get tickets. It is a big part of Michigan.

Thank you 2135!
