Football tickets?

Has anyone heard yet about getting their student season football ticket?

The email said during the week of the 16th. One friend called and they said that they haven’t done the lottery yet because the original deadline for applying to the lottery was put back a few days. Hopefully by Friday we should hear.

You should receive an email letting you know either way.

Hopefully they’ll announce soon!

I feel really sorry for the freshmen though, because most don’t get tickets through the lottery the first time around. Last year for the first game, not a single person in my University 101 class got tickets through the lottery. (Supposedly 1/3 of freshmen did get chosen in the lottery though). Although this is a different system, I’d imagine results would be fairly similar.

Emails were sent this morning.

Check your junk folder. For some reason, they all went to the junk folder for most people. Not really sure why as every other email from that address has gone straight to the inbox.

I got upper deck this time, but most of my friends got lower deck, so it looks like I’ll be trying to get into lower deck during the on-demand period every week. :-/

DD (incoming freshman) got the email today, she got an upper deck seat.

Pretty lucky!

Freshman son got lower level tickets. That boy is lucky, lucky!

Son (freshman) got lower deck tickets!!! So happy for him.

:(

if you don’t get tickets what’s the probability you can still go to most games.

Decent, depending on game. Even though you get season tickets, you have to accept it by a certain time each week or it goes into a pool for students to request individual tickets. I know my D won’t go to every game. Obviously there will be higher demand for some games…

Only disclaimer…this a new system so no way of telling if better than last year, not sure it could be much worse.

Just checked my email, got lower deck seat tickets! Definitely was not expecting to get that lucky.

Daughter got notice of tickets/locaton today. “Lower deck”??? I guess that’s not the student end zone section? She is thrilled to have tickets, but not sure what “lower deck” means. Anyone know?

Lower deck is the student section. So tell your daughter not to worry!

Honestly, I’m pretty annoyed with this new system. I just don’t see how this system is any better than last year’s. There are juniors stuck with upper deck and freshmen with lower deck tickets. It doesn’t make sense and it isn’t based on just a single game at a time, it’s all of them.

At least with last year’s after the first couple of games, you were able to finally start getting chosen in the lottery for lower deck and if you didn’t, you knew it was only for one game… not all of them. You’d be put in another lottery the next week.

Because of the system this year, if you get upper-deck, you’re stuck doing on-demand every single week which can be a complete pain. Personally, I don’t think it’s safe to go to a game alone and sit by yourself nor is it really any fun when you’re in a mix of intoxicated adults and fans of the other team yelling the whole time. It just isn’t the same as the student section. But that’s life and I knew that getting upper deck tickets for every single game was a potential result. It was, after all, a lottery. And they had plenty of student panels during this past year which I never attended, so I really shouldn’t be complaining.

Congrats to all who got lower deck! It’s really quite the experience and I’m definitely jealous right now. Being in the student section is like no other. :)

Got a lower deck. If I can not attend every game, will I have a physical ticket that I can give to to a classmate or is the Student ID the ticket?

I don’t think tickets are transferrable. You turn it in online. I think lower level is just loaded on your carolina card because students go through specific gate. Upper level you print off a ticket.

Lower deck is done through Carolina Card. If you can’t go, you transfer your ticket to the donation page.

Then at some point, the tickets become available to students without tickets.

Upper level requires a Carolina Card and a printed off ticket.

You’re not allowed to choose a specific student to give a ticket to, though.

I’m a freshman and got lower deck!!! :)

So upper deck is not the student section? D and friend (freshmen) both got upper deck tickets. Are the upper deck tickets for a specific row/seat, or is it general seating within a specific section of the stadium?

^Upper deck is not student section. It’s assigned seating. As I recall, they’re pretty sparsely located through the upper deck sections. Upper deck tickets usually end up going to fans of the other team (seeing as how that’s considered the Visitor’s side) and some season pass ticket holders.

Your daughter and her friend will be allowed to relinquish their tickets in order to try for lower deck tickets, but there are no guarantees.

Last year, when I received upper deck tickets (to two games), my friends and I just ended up moving around and until we found some empty seats to sit together. But we had to move probably at least five times because people who had bought tickets would come to sit in their seats.

Thanks for the info. Kind of a bummer, but I’m sure they’ll manage and have a great time.
