For AdmissionDaniel

Admissions Daniel - I'm hoping you can shed some light to the School of Nursing's articulation agreements with other colleges.

My daughter loved Johns Hopkins when we visited the campus this past spring. Aside from its strong science fields, she was especially drawn to Johns Hopkins highly regarded French Department (which would be her double major). She has done her research, have shadowed nurse practitioners and is convinced she wants to take the nursing career as far as she can go and use her skills internationally.

Unfortunately, I think this mother gave her bad piece of advice when I convinced her not to apply ED to JHU (because her chances are already slim with her low SAT scores) so that she doesn't miss out on applying EA to her match schools. All other aspects of her resume may not be ivy league standards, but she has musical & athletic ECs, leadership skills, taken most AP courses, top 12% in her class of 430 at a very competitive public schools with a handful of graduates making it into ivy colleges, etc. Without sounding too bias & cliche, she really does have a passion for learning and want to make a difference in the world.

Anyway, she has learned that there are a handful of colleges that have an articulation agreement with JHU's SON and the hope of being a part of JHU has been revived. She is looking at Loyola and Washington College among those colleges.

I have read most of the program description on the SON's website and realize I need to post our specific questions to the SON's admission department. But we would really love to hear your thoughts on this articulation agreement and if you have any advice/words of wisdom for my daughter.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I'd be more than happy to answer your questions, but unfortunately I do not know the answers. The School of Nursing is a completely separate institution - separate campus, separate Admissions process. I know very little about the SON's programs.

My suggestion - contact the SON directly.

Sorry. Good luck to you and your daughter.

No problem. Thanks for your prompt reply! We will contact SON directly.
