<p>It will or will not give you advantage depending on how many people are applying from your region. I know competitiveness of a region matters for international students (I asked international admission director several days ago). I am not too sure about domestic students. Hope this is helpful.</p>
<p>I haven't met anybody from Oregon at either Cornell or Penn. Assuming you are qualified for admission, you have an advantage. This doesn't mean you will be admitted if you are not qualified.</p>

<p>Cornell (AEM) is great for business as well.</p>
