when i first went on this site 2 and a half years ago i freaked out. i thought i woulnt get into college and if i did tiw ould be to someplace i did n ot want to go to. People on here have some of the best scores on these tests in the country, win fabulous awards, and all these other great things. YOu come on here to ask "do i have a chance" at blahblahblah. i did that too, and you know what , acccording to ... 95% of the people on this site i was not supposed to get into any of the colleges i applyed to. I applied to 11, got into 9 the 2 being harvard and mit--which i really didn't care about but i did get into columbia, u. chicago, and rice, and got huge scholarships to some other places. This site made me cry. I was thrilled with my sat score when i first got them 1400. my goal score. and according to some of the people here, that's not good enough for any top 20 school. i worked hard throughout highschool, stayed focus in certain things, and i'll be at rice next year and i'm sooo excited. so i know i just talked alot but i wanted to let you guys know that what people ssay on this site isn't the end all be all, you will get into college. i promise :)

i'm a light hearted goofy kind of girl: at chicago the kids were starteing to talk about whether god existed, and this one kid made it seem like it would be just so wrong to say that i' believe in god and that i go to church-- not the right people for me and at columbia didn't have so much of a sense of community... pretty much for both the core curriculum and the people. rice= distribution requirements + more quirky/goofiness

at columbia someone asked me why i was even deciding between rice and columbia-- he said that yes, you'd be in the middle of the class at columbia or at the top at rice.. and i was like what do you think rice is?!

i sent in my columbia deposit and changed my mind two days later (may 2) called up rice and columbia and sent the money into rice. i'm happy with my decisison finally.

Yeah, I bet that kid thought people from Columbia were much smarter than people from Rice. THAT must be why Columbia's average SAT scores are lower than Rice's.
