For all those who want a VERY SOLID school and have Just "OK" admissions cradentials.

Take a look at this link, the University of South Florida is a SERIOUS player in academia. Although USF is not on par with tier 1 publics, it offers tons of opportunity for undergraduate, graduate and professional (including med school) students. It also has admissions standards that will appeal to "Good" students. South Florida is up and comming, getting better and more well known every year. I am not claiming that it is on par with U-Florida, but I would bet it is there with Florida State. The link shows some pretty interesting facts, although it is a bit old. Considering where USF is ranked by US NEWS, a lot of the facts are downright surprizing on the good side, some are expected. Personally, I think that the only factor keeping USF from moving into the ranks of a T-2 school is "LOW" SAT scores, as well as it being a "NEW" school. Look for this school to start to rise in rankings as it becomes more well known (Big East Sports) and continues to carry out serious research.

Disclaimer- I went to USF for my Masters degree in chemistry and I am going to U-Florida for my MBA.
