Bestindawest: Wow, I was attempting to have at least a mildly calm, factual based argument with you. However, you seem to be incapable of actually thinking. You must feel really good about yourself. I’m gonna go over this one more time for you, because you don’t seem to be understanding.

SDSU might have a lower admissions rate, but that does NOT mean they are more selective. Average GPA/SATs at SDSU: like 3.5/1650. Average at UCSB: 4.0/1870. In addition, at UCSB, it isn’t enough to have just the grades and SAT scores, you need ECs too, unlike at SDSU.

As for having a backup for a backup, UCSB was my backup for UCLA. I didn’t get into UCLA, and UCSB was my second choice. But on the very off chance that I didn’t get into UCSB, I also applied to SDSU (and UCSC). I don’t understand how that makes me ■■■■■■■■. You’re so ridiculously stupid for thinking that.

You don’t give any viable reason for why you “disagree” with my statement about international students. My girlfriend’s sister applied to UC Berkeley from Russia and graduated with a 3.9 in Biomolecular and Plant sciences. Many countries have a much better education system than ours, do some research, instead of just saying you disagree from your own, extremely biased and misinformed opinion.

I’m not gonna argue the part about IV, because it is an extremely biased source, and while it holds some weight, you cannot look at solely one source for information. How can you say my information is isn’t “centered around IV”, ITS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF UCSB. This point is all a matter of opinion, so I can’t argue it as well. If you don’t like IV, you don’t like IV. I do. End of discussion.

And hey, dumbass, know where SJSU is? IN SILICON VALLEY. So guess that means? A huge amount of computer based jobs, most of which are pretty high paying. You are EXTREMELY wrong about why UCSB makes less. We have less than 5% engineers, while Cal Poly has a whopping 23%. Again, engineers make a lot more than most people with a BS/BA. While Cal Poly may be very driven to get people into the working force, UCSB places a heavy emphasis on research. Almost everyone in engineering at UCSB gets their own research opportunities without much effort.

So hey, instead of coming up with ******** arguments about why Cal Poly is better, why can’t you realize that both are GREAT institutions, each with their respective pluses? I’ve thrashed every point you’ve made multiple times, and I had a pretty good impression of Cal Poly until now, because I now realize idiots like you are going there. You have failed to make a coherent argument for any point. Either do so in a way that can actually be discussed in a civilized manner, or get out of this sub-forum.
