I couldn't imagine anything other than perfectionism. :)

Pick up a sport and see how how hard it is to run the mile in 4 minutes your first time through. You gotta work hard, and use the setbacks to propel you towards success. It's worked for me so far ;)

this concept is very difficult for me to deal with in all aspects

i agree with the idea of laughing at your mistakes. Fail a test, don't sulk, just laugh. It's funny, if you think about it.

Especially when you make the stupidest mistakes ever...haha. I make those quite often. Like 4.5 nm = ? m. And I put 4.5 x 10^9 m. I mean, how stupid can you get...and it was on a test with 5 of those type of problems, and I got EVERY SINGLE ONE WRONG. 0.789 kg = ? g. 7.89 x 10^2 g, according to me. lol.

But whatever. Just remember, high school shouldn't be all academics. Being a perfectionist isn't bad, but it shouldn't take over your life! You can't be totally perfect. So don't bother trying. Do your best, make things the best you can make them, but don't aim for perfect perfect.

^ haha nicely put. I'm working on it! ;)

Miss Independent, you think a 44 is bad?! I got a ZERO on a calculus quiz once...and I answered every single question! I have a 16% in that class for WEEKS!
You just have to laugh.

[and as for the OCD component of perfectionism...I hear that! I have ocpd, obsessive compulsive personality disorder]

obsessive compulsive doesn't have to only be about school...geez it can relate to any part of life

of course it can; you don't need to tell ME that. god only knows how disruptive it can be in all facets of life.
case in point, I just spent 2 hours reorganizing the kitchen when I should have been writing an English paper. But what can you do?
