Are you a perfectionist?

Well...are you?

Yes... do you think it's a good thing or a bad thing?

Hardcore, dude. :)

I was before .. nowadays I'm not.

I used to be also.

With fixing monitors? Yes.

I am a computer technician, and I sometimes have to adjust CRT monitors. It takes me about 30 minutes to get it aligned perfectly, but I do it anyway. All six of my CRTs that I own are absolutely centered and straightened, and the focus is right on. Of course, I've lost countless hours of my time doing this, but that's the problem with demanding perfection.

Everyone on this forum is pretty much a perfectionist whether they will admit or not. Thats why they are on here...to get into a top 25 school.

I'm a perfectionist, but sometimes to the point where it's really frustrating because I don't have enough time to fix everything I want to. lol

I'm a perfectionist also, but sometimes I really wish I wasn't. I can get bossy sometimes and really flusterated if people are blowing things off or not doing them well. As for school everything has to be perfect and if it isn't I flip out. I think I am getting used to it now though... I am starting to let go of little things that I can't change and ignoring them, but it is hard. It will be the dumbest things... like I am watching a play and the actor messes up or isn'y good at all I just want to go up there and either tell them to do better or play the part for them. But I'm getting better and I've learned to just laugh at the people who suck and it will give me an advantage later.

I used to be a perfectionist...in middle school when i got straight A+'s. Then in HS I kinda stopped caring. Needless to say, I am no longer a so called "perfectionist."

I am most definitely a perfectionist. Sometimes it's hard because not everything can be perfect and I have had trouble accepting that. However, I have come to accept it, although I still strive to have everything in order in my life (if I can).

I definitely used to be, but today not as much, though I think some of my perfectionism turned into OCD, and now if my bookcase isn't arranged in alphabetical order by author I get mighty cranky :p

yes...especially when we have group work

^^ are you one of those people who doesn't let anyone else do any work when assigned a group project? we had to write some story in spanish and this girl said she didn't trust anyone and did the assignment herself...i mean, hhey no work is cool, but i felt bad

I'm kinda like that. I've come to letting other people do work, but I like it best when we all do it together, not bring it home (then I can fix all the mistakes they make!).

I'm a perfectionist to a point. I want things to be done as well as possible, but I'm able to let it go when things don't go according to plan.

I hate group work! Unless it's with people that I know and actually trust, I don't like relying on other people. I still try to spread the work out evenly, but last year especially I ended up doing more than my fair share.

no...im just one of those people that kindly HINTS at ways that they can improve their work, and if they dont listen.....i do it myself. It's my grade too!

i have improved though.

im not that mean about it though

i am in some sense and in some sense i'm the exreme opposite.

it depends on whether i'm sleepy or not.

I admit that my perfectionism has given way to slight OCD, and now I get really testy if my books and magazines aren't in some type of order. Heck, my closet is color coordinated. I am one of those people who don't like working in groups because you have to depend on other people, and there aren't many dependable people at my school, so many times I end up doing most of the work.
