Hey ya'll! My son just committed to Clemson University, both his father and I are alumni from Clemson(father played football). His father knows how the campus has changed over the years, and wants to know how assessable(talking to/hanging out with non-athletes) are the student-athletes, to the rest of the student body now a'days?

Long question short: Is it easy to interact with the athletes(football/basketball/baseball) on campus

You will probably get more responses if you post this in the Clemson forum. I think it depends on the particular sport and the time commitment involved, as well as the person. Football, baseball and basketball players likely have less opportunity to join clubs and organizations that would foster more interaction than other student athletes. Having said that, my S attended Clemson and two members of the football team were in his fraternity. So it’s certainly not impossible to have a social life outside of one’s sport.

haha @Overtheedge this is the Clemson forum…but I agree that it doesn’t appear to be impossible to have a social life outside of one’s sport (probably takes a good deal of time management though)

^@pierre0913 - the thread was initially posted in the Parents Forum and was moved. But your comment gives me an opportunity to thank you for all the great info you provide about Clemson. How bout those Tigers! Glad they finally ended the Gamecock run.

ah gotcha haha, no problem! I guess it took me graduating for Clemson to finally win the state championship game…
