For class of 2014, who received an acceptance letter from NYU?

@UniversityGirl

I also applied for Journalism. I’m not sure if it’s a small major, but I would like to know as well.

yay!! at least i finally found a fellow journalism major!! :slight_smile: what would be your second major at nyu?! ;)

Probably Poli Sci. I’m also hoping to minor in Film Studies at Tisch, but I haven’t looked into it in detail yet! What about you?

seriously, too creepy…
as of now it would most likely be political science and i would like to minor in applied theater (the cross-school minor)!

Does NYU make decisions based on major?

^^ ditto’ing the question above…
i don’t think they solely do, but
i kind of hope they take it into account if it’s a small major ;p

NYU does not choose based on major, no.

@missamericanpie thanks, you’re always a big help!! :slight_smile:
maybe you know, i know you don’t go to CAS, but is there an available theater minor there?

LSP requests have been sent out, but they are only asking if you would like to join LSP and if you do then you get an acceptance on 4/1

I got my package in the mail today! I got in!!! :D. LSP, too, although I’m beginning to quite like it: I like the idea of small classes.

I’m crazy excited, I DIDN’T THINK I WOULD GET IN!!!

Does anyone know when you receive your financial aid stuff? Is it with the formal packet that you get on 4/1? Because I didn’t get anything about financial aid in my package

if you dont mind me asking what where you stats?? im soo nervous, i haven’t gotten anything and i was hoping to get lsp’d

Honestly, I think I got very, very lucky. My stats are pretty much terrible…I don’t even know why they took me. I think it was because I had really good essays/the supplemental writing application and references. Because honestly, my stats suck.

GPA: 3.625
SAT I score combined: 2040
Reading: 720
Writing: 710
Math: 610
SATII US History: 650
SATII French w/ listening: 570

Extracurriculars:
Piano, Dance, Voice, French Honor Society, School literary magazine, Volunteering at children’s hospital.

Work experience: Tutoring kids @ Kumon

Pretty much my very, very lackluster stats (which I hope will give you hope for admission!). I’m thinking that it was my writing and recommendations that saved me, haha. I originally applied for CAS.

Good luck!! I really hope you get in :D

Hey, my SATs were even lower, and I got LSP’d as well.
Anywho… I hear rejection letters have been sent to some over here in California… I’m thinking the acceptance/rejection process has finally truly begun…

I got my LSP invite yesterday afternoon. I never thought I’d have a chance of getting in so I am extremely excited. I’m not sure if I’ll be going, but it’s definitely and option!!

@UniversityGirl @exsentrik
I don’t think journalism is a very small major at NYU because it is one of the more popular majors. Unless you’re asking if the classes are smaller, then I have no idea.

@UniversityGirl
I don’t think you can minor in Theatre, which would be through Tisch. The only available minor at Tisch to non-Tisch majors is Producing. I wish they had a Treatre/Drama minor too.
I think you can minor in Applied Theatre or Educational Theatre at Steinhardt if that interest you though.

Not to toot my own horn, but if you’ve been accepted to LSP, fill out the form in the “accepted students” thread! Please? :D?

ah…
i’m an international student eagerly waiting for an email that includes a hopeful stern acceptance :S
did any stern decision get released yet?

uh oh, I haven’t heard back yet… Is this online or by mail?

i’m in NC and haven’t gotten anything :/

ya im in nyc and havent heard anything… k so when someone gets a rejection or acceptance… not lsp or special program… just a regular letter post it here…
