respected elders,
As an international student from India, I want to know whether I can apply for colleges like MIT, Harvard, Stanford etc.
I have achieved a score of 1590 in sat and I have completed my secondary high school in 2016. I am planning to apply for class of 2022

respected junior,

You can apply to the colleges you mentioned but not easy to get accepted especially for high-achieving international students. However, do apply to some safeties.

Kunal, please don’t address people like this. It sounds very unnatural to our ears. Just say Hi, and ask your question.

Of course, anyone can apply to any of those schools. In case you don’t know, getting into those colleges is not dependent on just a high test score. All of the best colleges in the US want students who excel in many areas. That means you need to write a really good personal statement. You need excellent letters of recommendation. You need to do interesting things after school, in your neighborhood, or in your community. Ideally, you want to be talented in something non-academic. Playing a sport never looks bad, nor does playing a musical instrument, or being a chess player, or being a beekeeper, if those are the things you love doing and you do them well. It’s all about demonstrating a passion for something.

As an international, especially if you are from India, your competition will be insane. You need to be completely outstanding in every way to have a chance. Many students apply to those colleges from India. Be the best of the best, then you might have a chance.
