...do you think the Harry Potter books would be a good idea? I'm just wondering because those are the only books that I really know in-depth. :p

If you honestly and truly have NOTHING else, then use harry potter. But for right now, I suggest using wiki and learning some basic stuff about some classic novels like catcher in the rye, the great gatsby, and som others.

^^
I disagree. While it would have been better if you had read classics for the SAT, it would be unwise to do so in the last 5 days. You'll just end up confused and panicky.

Go with Harry Potter if you'd like, but don't be surprised if you only manage a 3-4 out of 6.

But the stuff you need to write about the novels on the essay is so minimal, you could probably learn everything you need from wiki. All they really expect on the lit works is Title, Author, brief overview, and your twist of how the topic fits your novel.

do the essay graders really grade on your choice of topic? If by some chance harry potter books fit the essay prompt, shouldn't you use them? I know that even if you write down the wrong author, essay graders won't take off. Just like how they won't take off if you don't finish the essay. Aren't they there to grade how you write? not what you write about (assuming you stay with the prompt)?

Well...

I wouldn't use HP personally, unless I was at the end of my wits and I had no time to choose, because putting on a HP example just shows that really, I'm not familiar with more academic subjects.

I don't know. I just think it's a bad impression sorta thing...?

go sparknote a few novels.
Just get the jist of it.

...Lol. Guys, I don't really think the SAT graders judge you on the literary merit of your examples -- I think it's more about their relevance and validity.
