I was actually planning on using 2 lit and 1 historical but I ran out of time. Does diversity in examples matter?

If it makes any difference I filled up both pages.

I think you’ll be okay as long as they don’t have similar plots/themes

Uh oh, they do have similar plots/themes.

huh?
I used 2 lit and 1 historical examples back in the oct test and I got a 12 lol
well, then against i guess macbeth and animal farm arent exactly similar eh

I used two common lit examples in nov. scarlet let & gatsby. I got a 12

I used the space race and the cold war, is that fine too?

LOL, only on CC would you find a thread like this… :P

Honestly though, you’re fine. As long as you supported your position adequately and filled up both pages, I don’t see any reason why you’d get a low score. :D

fffffffffffffuuuuuuuuu- I filled the first page and did 2/5 to 1/2 on the second, is this fine?

For reference, I barely made it past the first page on the May '09 SAT and got an 8. I don’t think you should have a problem either, as long as your support is strong.

Blech. I hadn’t done the essay under timed conditions before the real thing, so I had 5 minutes to write my second example and the conclusion. That resulted in an irrelevant-ish first example and a 5-line, underdeveloped second one. Goodbye, hopes of 800 W.

LOL. I actually used Harry Potter as one of my examples.

^ Oooooh, smart! I couldn’t think of ANY lit examples. Mine were both historical. Blerg.

as long as its 2 pages u will get 10+

I wrote incomplete, with 2 stupid fantasy example , 1and 1/2 page and got a 8

my friend wrote complete essay one page ( 3 examples) got a 7 :O

I used two historical examples, but I don’t know if I’ll hit a score above 8. The last essay was definitely written better than the other two.

so did I. I’m so nervous about my essay, and EVERYTHING! I WANT TO HAVE MY SCORE RIGHT NOW!!

I did 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 if anyone’s wondering. Both are super similar.

I did 1984 and was about to use Fahrenheit but then decided against repeating myself [since I would’ve basically said the same thing about both].

Oh, and I don’t see how it’s possible to write 2 pages in 25 mins! you guys must be fast writers or I just must have very small handwriting in comparison to the ones that managed to do it. The most I’ve ever written [writing furiously for about 22 minutes] was a page and a half before time was up.

what if i only wrote like 3/4 of a page to 4/5 of a page but used good example, just slow writer can i get 10/11
?

???

^As much as College Board may say that length doesn’t matter, I think it actually does.

how does fahrenheit 451 and the great gatsby have to do with the prompt? i cant make a connection. especially the great gatsby
