for ppl who already went to orientation

eee my draft schedule is done with. I just have to hope the classes don’t fill up. ):

Well, the schedule thing is really flexible, especially if you go to the early orientations

So I wouldn’t worry
My schedule is totally different from my draft ones

seriously? what prompted the change?

CNAS learning community - it sounded awesome so I jumped for it

and, the classes I received ended up conflicting with the breadth classes I planned for, so I chose new ones

haha you guys are having a conversation in a discussion forum

so was it fun ?how was the food?

the food was pretty good, although they didn’t serve it buffet style, as they said they normally do

but since it wasn’t buffet style, I can’t really compare it to other colleges’ dining services…

the whole buffet thing is a pretty major factor, in my opinion -

how well they can cook the foods
what variety they have
our choices in each meal
how they handle demand

Although I’m not used to having the dining tables so close to where you pick up food

really cause I heard the food well dorm food suck and that going to be my main diet now because a health problem prevents me of eating salty food.

So how do you pick classes. Mine might differ though cause I am a CHASS student.

No idea… I’m CNAS

I think you can take english, math, a breadth course, dunno about science or whatever else.

Go to the CHASS website and look it up, I did the same for CNAS

but in any case, everyone looks up classes on the schedule of classes website, then at orientation signs up for them on the GROWL website

Yeah Chass requires Eng,Math and GEs . What else did orientation involve beside picking classes and food. oh can students take there cars and leave them overnight

random fun activities

and advising for registering, they spent a lot of time on that

and just introductory stuff, like hey, this is what CNAS is all about, or hey, these are the policies for housing and dormitories

hmm did they go over any policies regarding the internet? ie: dling songs ):

?!?! Was there a dance?! I jst saw this on the FB group. LOLOL.

so we cant use the fiber optic connection to dload songs nooooooooo!

lolol are u mocking me -_- it was a serious question.

does anyone know which textbooks are used for the math courses?

They have a policy regarding downloading songs, movies, etc.:

Don’t do it.

Hope everyone enjoyed/enjoys orientation!

And the textbooks vary for each class. You have to ask the professor. They might tell you on the first day or post up a syllabus on iLearn (start checking around a week or two before actual instruction beings).

did people actually get one on one time with their advisor? also,is the meeting with the advisor before or after choosing classes?

like… not even from like a youtube converter? you know, where you paste link of youtube, and then they’ll give you a direct link to dl something in mp3 or flv format? or… through AIM? or through email?

Just curioussss.

how were ppl separated for the overnight stay

they have wifi all over the campus, and in everyone’s dorm rooms they have super fast internet

The advisor said at one point she hit two megs per second, although I’m not sure if that’s two megabits or two megabytes, seeing that 1 byte = 8 bits

pretty sure she meant megabytes

I only got 1 on 1 time when i went up to my adviser and it was only for couple minutes
