For Seniors who took the PSAT last year

Any seniors who took the PSAT last year will most likely know the answer to this question:
So, we do not find out our state's cutoff until September.
However, did you INFORMALLY find out before September somehow?

In May, students are notified if they at least made commended. Schools usually receive the semifinalist information in late August and, in most cases, are quick to give out the information to students. Other than that, there is no information leaked anywhere about semifinalist status. I have no idea why National Merit drags this out, other than for their own convenience.

high-ambition our principal gave us the results around the end of August which is usually when the schools get it. It is not released to the entire school or community until mid-sept. Some schools don't understand that parents and students CAN know and so hold the scores.

Yes. I checked the forums on cc and knew way ahead of the other semifinalists at my school that I had made the cutoff.

I estimated the cutoff based on last years and how hard (or easy) the test was compared to that year
Of course, we had lower cuoffs b/c of the readjustment of the PSAT writing section

I was not able to get any info out of my school, but feel free to try
