Yeah sure, if you look you’ll find anecdotal cases of people who did poorly in high school and turned out to be geniuses and made bank. But these are exceptions. We can’t go around assuming everyone who does poorly on the SAT/has a bad gpa is a secret genius. The SAT isn’t meant to test one’s knowledge, but rather to gauge one’s ability to learn and work hard towards a goal.

and also, “life smacks them up”?

which would you HONESTLY pick, incredibly hot woman with crap personality, or incredibly ugly woman with great personality (isn’t this also subjective?)

Grades and test scores are everything. How smart you are, your value as a person, and the justification on your existence is calculated by God using a mixture of your GPA and most recent test scores. So, the smart kid who doesn’t really get school (i.e not organized, gets bored easily, instead of doing homework spends time reading, etc) is worse in the eyes of God because he doesn’t treat school like its some kind of cult. Thank you CC for opening my eyes.

Oh btw i meant unweighted not weighted. And thanks for the “advise”. I’m going to take the SAT again and study for it more. But really? I’m not looking for top schools like most people on CC, i’m saving that for graduate school. So right now most of the colleges i like are SAT optional with a few that require the SAT, but even then there average isn’t that far off. My reach is Trinity. I have the grades, but obviously my SAT is lacking. I’m going tp write an amazing essay though and i have tons if ECs and community service hours. Any advice that is not going to make me feel stupid or is immature is unwelcome. Grow up. You don’t have to call other people stupid. And thanks to the people who actually want to help me.

Practically everyone above the 50th percentile in terms of “intelligence” can get a top GPA through simple dedication. I don’t know about you guys, but I have many classes in which tests count for maybe 20-40% of the grade. If you average let’s say a 75% C on those but 100s on all the tedious homework assignments, essays that you spend hours on, and you are a fantastic participator in class who is loved by the teacher, that averages out to just about a low A depending on how much of your grade tests are. Sure, the combination of “unintelligent” student and hard worker (with this mindset you would probably eventually build up said “intelligence”) is probably pretty rare, but it’s certainly feasible.

In fact, this case could also apply to people who simply fold under the pressure of any and all tests, or overthink answers, or spend way too much time making sure they have the right answers, or any other of a multitude of possible reasons why someone might do poorly on tests and not long-term assignments; it’d still be possible for them to achieve a solid GPA and success in life in ventures that don’t require quick, timed thinking skills (same goes for the former case).

That is exactly what i do. That’s why i think I have such a low score. In the CR part i have to read the entire passage and questions and answers and that means well, i don’t finish on time. This is also true for the math section. For the writing it’s more easy for me because I don’t have to do so many things.

So should i take them again? The only college I would really need them for would be trinity which is a 1700+ school. I don’t even know if I should apply there but i love it.

People doesn’t see our worth as a sauce though. And no one recognizes Cheesus OR Meathova, except maybe you.

Anyway, it’s good to know worth is decided upon and relative, even if knowing this won’t change what is valued. But it’s maybe slightly empowering, to know that what is valued can change, and that you can maybe help change it (if you want to do that).
