For students apply from outside US!

Hi everyone! I’m a international students and I’m consisdering the application process of US colleges

But I don’t understand much about the process of sending the application to college in US( cuz I come from Asia) .I mean how to send all the material, package por sth like this…Can anyone make it clearer for me ?I really appreciate yr help, thanks

just send it via international (air) mail at your local post office.

Or apply online.

Thanks you guys!!!But I want to know abt the package :) ...People will have to send everything in ONE package or they can do it seperately ?And my friend apply 7 schools so he'll have to send all packages in ONE day ? :) Thanks again!

Lol, calm down. I know it can all sound confusing ... but it really isn't that bad. Listen, you don't have to send EVERYTHING all at once. For example, your teacher recommendations will obviously be sent separately by whomever writes them. The school you are applying to will be responsible for putting your file together ... JUST MAKE SURE YOU PUT YOUR FULL NAME ON EVERYTHING YOU SEND.

I would say apply online. Your school will send your transcript separately and your teachers will send their recommendaitons separately. Your SAT scores (if you took the SAT) will be sent by college board.

No, your friend does not have to send all of his applications the same day. Each application is completely independent of the others. He just needs to make sure to get in each application before the school's deadline.

The deadline in LACs is flexible, which means you can submit the file 2 weeks or even a month later, BUT your application (essays, ecs...) must be submitted in time. So for people living abroad, submit the common application online first, then you send all supplemental materials like transcript (sealed by your counsellor), recs (sealed by your teachers), .. in a big envelope - that's not mandatory but for saving money ;). Make sure the big envelope meet the postmarked deadline, incase you can't afford to do so, send it a week later, but don't make it too late.
I did like this last year and everything went fine. I'm from the same place as you, so relax:)

Oh, but as I aforementioned, teachers in my school( except English teacher) can't write E well so other students say that I will ask them to wite rec in my mother tongue and translate it into E at home .So I will have to send recs & transcripts by myself ,not from my teacher ,rite ? :)...Actually the app process confuses me a great deal :((...I don't know clearly anything ! :((

Did anyone receive the Harvard application form? (by mail)

Well, everybody ,can you come to this thread & share yr experience with inter students abt application process? :)) Thanks much

No, you can't translate the recs yourself. All of my recs were in Spanish and I had to pay a translator to translate them (someone who had an official seal). Send in the translation with the recommendation. So I guess the answer is no, they will not be sealed. My university didn't have any problem with this, though.
