For the ACT great compsoite score but bad reading score?

Hi guys

So I just took my ACT and my composite core is a 34. However, my scores for each section were English 35, Math 36, Science 34 but my reading was 29 =(. Im hoping to apply to really competitive schools next year and a couple of Ivies.Do colleges really care about the section score or are they more concerned about the composite score? Is 29 that bad and should I retake it?

Thanks

I think you should focus on other aspects if you want to go to an ivy.

Once you hit about a 33, it doesn’t really help you all that much to try to get higher scores if you are applying to competitive colleges. They are primarily most concerned with the composite score.

If you think you can do better, study for it and then retake. But there are other things you can do to stand out instead of having a point higher ACT :P
