I somehow managed to get into HYP, and since their financial aid trumps that of other schools, I'm pretty sure I'm going to one of them. Now, the thing is, my mom looks like she's on the verge of getting a job that will almost double our yearly income, so I'm trying to see if there would be potential differences between the grants by those schools should that happen. If there are big differences at the ~150,000-180,000 level, that would be a big factor in my decision.

So if you could, please state where you got in and which is giving you the most money (and by how much it exceeds the others), along with an estimate of your family's income. Thank you!

I'll start:

Yale; about 1k over Harvard and 3k over Princeton. Income: ~85k

well you can probably talk to the financial aid ppl to renegotiate those few thousand. i didn't apply to harvard but did get accepted to yale and princeton. yale trumps princeton by a good bit...especially if you make +100k. don't know about yale vs harvard, but i've heard that they don't differ +few hundred if your income is that high.

**Don't regret your decision, chose yale (over harvard)!!! save harvard for graduate or professional school, you'll enjoy it much better.

The debt you get from the 3 (12k more at princeton after 4 years) will be insignificant. first, you will get a great job out of those schools if you choose to. Second, you were accepted at all 3, so im sure you will do excellent at any of them. Decide on other factors, not the $$. Harvard and Princeton may match your yale offer as well.

I'd pick whatever you like the most, then transfer it is gets too bad. Out of the 3, I think Princeton actually would give the most to high income students. Harvard and Yale give a lot to low income, but after that I think you would get just loans from those 2.

With that big a potential change in income, it might be worth contacting the schools and asking what kind of FA package you would be looking at if she does land the job. I'm sure they would understand.
