For those of you who have taken AP World History & AP Economics ...

Do any any Ivies grant credit or acceleration for AP World History? I looked online at AP courses that Harvard gives & does not give credit for, but World History wasn't even on there .. I'm assuming that they don't give credit then?

Also for those of you who have received a 5 on AP Macro and microeconomics, what level of math were you taking concurrently? Is it an easy AP to self-study if you are taking AP Calc AB with it?

AP calc AB is not easy neither is AP World History and AP economics. In theory it would not be hard to self study. (i took AP world history had a good teacher and i got a 4) and in econ i had a horrible teacher pretty much self studied and got a 3. So yeah not hard but self studying TWO APs is hard and the work will catch up w/ u cause there are other things more important such as SATs and GPA.

I self-studied world history and US gov't in about a week and a half this year. I didn't do that great on World (probably 3-4) but I found gov't very easy. World is a tough test to prep for because there is sooo much information. I am taking Euro in school this year and I did US last year so that helped a lot with overlap. IMO, from someone who has taken a lot of APs, macroeconomics is the easiest test out there and would be a lot easier to self-study then world.

World History is probably the 2nd easiest AP test I've taken. There is a lot of stuff covered but it's all general overview history that's ridiculously easy to memorize. I probably could've gone in without even opening a world history text/test-prep book and gotten at least a 4 on it. And the hardest math in econ is slopes, if that. Microecon is the easiest test I've ever taken, and macro is only slightly harder.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I've tried out some multiple choice questions on CB's AP Central for WH, and I only got 2 wrong out of the 5-10 sample questions there were. I think I'll take AP Econ. Thanks everyone!

There's really no math skill needed in AP macro besides adding and multiplying...
