anyone heard back about financial aid yet? (Am I being too greedy here? I just want to ask...) The admissions packet have no info on fin aid.

Offtopic, but is there anything special about the envelope you received that would tip off whether it's an acceptance or rejection?

Well, the envelope is a big fat envelope and It is white with Haverford's logo and mailing address on it. So if you received a small envelope I would be cautious.

Never mind. I found the message. On the fin aid web site it said the package will be mailed on or before April 1, 2008.
(but it is a pretty generic date. Wouldn't they mail that earlier like admissions package?)

The accepted envelope is 9x12, and you can actually read the acceptance letter through the back if you press on the paper or hold it to the light. Don't laugh - our daughter didn't get home from play practice until 7, and patience only took us so far.

Elsat… do you enjoy shaking presents before opening them too? :)

No, HC Alum, generally I'm not a present-shaker. My husband was amused at my tactics but it didn't stop him from doing the same thing. :)

WHOOOO! Wait list. sighhhhhhh

elsat - I want to thank you for the tip! I just got back from my daily envelope run. I get home, get the mail, find the stuff from colleges, call my daughter to find out where she is and bring it to her. Today's was definitely the best! And while I was pretty sure that the big envelope meant good news, it was nice to know that reading through the envelope was possible.
This has been a very long week!!

Notice how off topic this thread has become.

I blame elsat and fatladysings who in their tremendous enthusiasm and joy squint to read their children's admissions letters and hijack CC threads. :)

Didn't this thread end though at post#4 when you found the answer yourself, no? All the subsequent posts are like what happens after a parade when people start walking and dancing in the street... free for all.

BTW, the financial aid stuff normally comes several days before the 1st.
Good luck! I heard the financial aid budget will increase 25% for incoming students.

Yes, HC Alum, that post ends the discussion. And thanks for mentioning that about the financial budget.
