On Saturday my S received a big envelope from CMU Admissions. Was it...? Was it...?

Well, no. It wasn't. It was actually his art portfolio being RETURNED. Huh? Does this mean it was just taking up too much space and they had to get rid of it before they even sent out admission decisions? Is this a dis or do you think they were just tidying up the old office?

Anyone else get this unsettling surprise? Anyone from past years able to shed some light?

Did he apply science/engineering? Maybe they dont consider it necessary to review. Shouldnt read too much into it though...Relax decisions in a week..Its the "not knowing" that kills more...

I applied late freshman year for aid (about a week, got the date confused with another university) and it wasn't a problem. My roommate applied for aid after she got to CMU and still got money. They're very flexible.

That's good that they are flexible!
Recently I noticed we were missing financial aid stuff because I completely forgot about status checking but was reminded of it thanks to people here. I went downstairs cautiously and asked my parents about it because they ahd been filling out the forms (they have all the info!). This is only one of several things my parents were going to send but then didn't...yeah...

Me: "Umm...did anyone bother to actually do the CMU financial aid application we received??"
Dad: "I thought FAFSA was the financial aid application..."
Me: "There's a separate one, dad..."
dad: "Oh..."
Me: twitch twitch
