For those still deciding where to go

If you look past the "Harvard" references, this is applicable to all who are either awaiting results for today, or already have several schools to decide upon. One of the best I've ready on CC...

I’m sitting here waiting to register for the Fall '11 term(11am window), and it’s hard to believe it’s only been less than a year ago that I was making the decision of where to go. For what it’s worth, I was admitted to some great schools (Vandy, W&M, WU@StL, Duke, etc.) but I selected Maryland, and I could not be happier! :)

Thanks for the post. I am in that situation right now. Today I hear from Duke and I have been accepted to a couple of really good schools including the University Maryland. It is such a hard decision because there are so many unknowns…hopefully by next week I will have made up my mind

this morning, i checked my decision and i was accepted. Couple minutes ago, i checked again. the decision disappeared!!!

^ The admissions decision site is currently under maintenance. No worries :)

plum-Damn you must have come in with a lot of credits. I’m practically a junior, in ARHU (smaller school) and I don’t register until next Tuesday.

@ginab, yeah, I was practically a junior when I started and I’m nearly a senior now.
What can I say? My high school offered a LOT of AP classes… And I took
them. :)

Honestly I just wish I had one more credit so I could park in Lot 19 instead of Lot 2. I’ll be here for four years regardless.

Ha, I have a friend in the same predicament! It’s crazy, that’s a LONG walk. I too will be here all 4 years. I’m doing two degrees in two different colleges plus pre-med, but I won’t have to take any summer/winter classes :)

Do you know much about Manhattan? If so, maybe you can brief me on the dos and don’ts. I can’t wait to spend the summer working on the “upper east side”!

I mean I know some things, but I’ve never lived there, (I’m from Queens). One thing I will tell you is walk faster. However fast you’re walking it’s not fast enough, just get out of the way please.

Where exactly are you working?

Weill Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan-Kettering. It’s a summer MD/PhD research program for undergraduates. I’ll be doing research in a lab at one of the campuses, and also will get clinical training, scrub for surgery, and dissect human cadavers! Can’t think of a better way to spend the summer :)
