Most SAT prep books are good for preparing for the Writing section…I found preparing for the Writing section easiest by simply doing LOTS of practice. Being exposed to a variety of grammatical errors from different books helps you become more aware of errors and naturally makes you quicker at finding them.

It helps to have a very keen eye for grammar in the first place, this is how I got an 800 in writing without any studying (perfect MC). For the MC, really know the kinds of questions the writing section frequents, such as those pertaining to subject-verb agreement, idiomatic errors, etc. Make sure to do a lot of practice tests from the Official SAT practice/guide, you will soon become familiar with those patterned questions CB asks. They will soon sound awkward to the ear (although you shouldn’t always trust the “ear test”). Don’t forget that the essay pulls some weight too. Good luck!

Specifically, the Barron’s writing workbook. For the essay, find the thread “How to get a 12 in 10 days.” That’s all you’ll need, along with lots of practice.
