My friend was accepted to Fordham yesterday, he goes to my school and lives less than a mile away from me. I haven't heard back left to only assume the worst. I'm pretty disappointed because I thought that I would probably be admitted given my stats and the 48% acceptance rate.

So unfortunately those who haven't received a response will probably be receiving bad news in the days to come.. sorry... don't kill the messenger.

Where are you (state)?

NY but I’m just as far away as parts of OH,PA,MA,VA. And this was YESTERDAY my friend was accepted. If you live on the west coast I’d say tomorrow MAYBE there’s a possibility of receiving good news. But mail travels fast these days.

Dont make any assumptions. Do you know how they sort batches? No. For all we know some rejections went out last Friday as well.

The USPS is at best quirky. Not efficient.

Fordham has to reply to 33,000 students. Be patient.

sovereigndebt,
thank you so very much for helping to keep the hope alive.
I truly hope you are correct, what you say make sense.
Thanks for responding and i hope you are right.
luckymom2:)

Number41x, don’t lose hope. In addition to the 33,000 students that Fordham has to notify, Boston University sent their packages out (we got both on the same day) so that’s a lot of mail for the USPS to handle.

Hopefully you’re all right. I guess I just won’t think about it until I get some sort of answer.

Plenty of kids in the exact same zipcode received letters the day before I did. Very few colleges, if any, send letters in batches. Don’t be so negative haha!

Not to be negative, but I don’t see where anyone that recieved notification was rejected. Correct me if I’m wrong? So Sovereigndebt 's prior posts about rejections perhaps being sent out after acceptances may be unfortunately correct. My son is still waiting (in R.I.). Time will tell. Good luck to all! Sovereindebt, thanks for all your input in the various threads, it is much appreciated.

But are people more likely to tell the world about their rejection or acceptance? And plus, students on this site are normally the type that (I’ll just say it) are more qualified and more likely to get in. Aside from the really tough schools (top 20, ivys, etc) I don’t see many people saying that they’ve been rejected anywhere even weeks after the notifications should have been received by all applicants.
