Hi guys,

I was just wondering how many of the prerequsiites you completed or were in the process of completing when you applied to Stern. What kind and how many english classes did you take? I only have Engl101 which is academic writing but I don't know what other writing classes to take. Also, did you take any science classes? I want to transfer to NYU but I don't have any science classes for my freshman year and I can't add it either cuz my schedule is already packed. Thanks!

It really depends on your major for what classes you need to complete before transferring. I would go speak to a counselor or go to NYU’s stern business school website and look up what core prerequisites you need to do before transferring.

Good Luck.

The reqs vary from sophomore to junior transfers.

Well I am applying as a sophomore and I have calc, econ, one writing, financial accounting, an intro business class all done or am going to do it next semester. But what I don’t have is statistics, another writing course, and science. Although science is not one of the recommended classes, it is still a course that most freshman Stern students take so the fact that I don’t have it will put me at a disadvantage. I am applying as a business economics major so if any accepted Stern students can tell me what prereqs they took when they applied, it would be very helpful. Thanks!

The general consensus is your going to be a long shot applicant without those classes.

@lolgirl: I don’t know if you are familiar with this or not but Stern has changed its reqs this year. Soph transfers are only required to take writing, intro to microecon and calc prior to transferring.

really?^ I wasnt aware.
