Was it strange for you to be in the class with a bunch of college students? I'm taking a class this summer, and I'm a little worried. I'm not the most social person, and I look young even for my age (15). I don't have a laptop, either, and I can't drive. Will I look like (and be treated like) a complete loser? How were your early-college experiences?

"Will I look like (and be treated like) a complete loser?"

not unless you are one

it doesnt sound like it so you should be fine

college students are still people

their behavior isn't that random

You are going to be fine. People might notice you are young but that it is. To be honest, nobody will care. College requires people to be academically and socially prepared, for the most part.

College people are nice.

In fact, if you show that you are smart, they'll look up to you.

Wouldn't you be impressed if you were in college, and a 15 year old kid was in your class?

I've got the same question...

Also, if any of you have taken a college/university class over the summer (or during the year), how was the workload?

I took a math class at a local university.

The class was fast-paced since summer school was only 6 weeks.

The workload was enough to keep me busy everyday.

I started taking college classes when I was fifteen as well, and let me tell you it's not that bad. Socially, it all depends on what time of day your class is.. I've taken a few early ones and nobody talks; were all nodding off. I just finished a evening class, and it's quite the opposite...

As for the workload, it all depends on what class you're taking. If its a social science/humanaties expect a lot of reading... Other than that just take good notes and you will be fine =] Motivated high school kids tend to do better in college classes than most college students-- we're used to a huge workload and one class in the summer feels relatively light..

good luck!

^ Thanks a lot. I'm in a pretty similar situation so it was nice to see I will live through this summer.

Yeah, chances are they won't know and/or care. Not a biggie.
