SO! What do you think (rejection, deferral, acceptance)? Thank you ahead of time for your responses!

I think most likely in.

Thank you very much!

Anyone else? :D

I hate to say it definitely... but I think you're definitely in :)

Thank you!

I'm asking everyone to chance me because I feel that my GPA is shaky (and Yale obviously places a big emphasis on it), and I haven't won any major national/international awards...and the "legacy" is absent, etc.

Yeah, because it's Yale the GPA may be a little low (I can relate...I have a similar "problem"). I hope you're really good with the piano because besides your leadership that's what Yale will really be looking at. Asian + piano isn't exactly unique :P. Overall, I think you have pretty decent chances, but you are competing against hundreds if not thousands of other Asians with similar qualifications. Make your essays really good! Show passion and commitment. Good luck!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/581842-what-can-brown-do-you.html

Ur EC's are amazing. However, like many previous posters, your kinda stereotypical? Like the whole piano thing? You have a good chance, but there are thousands of others EXACTLY like you.

^ There aren't "thousands" with a 2400 or even 2350+; Not to mention 800s on both SAT IIs. Your test scores certainly distinguish you from the applicant pool. I would say you have a pretty good chance, well over 50%.

Wow, great stats. If only I knew how to nail that damn critical reading section! lol

Anyway, as far as I can guess, you have an excellent shot. Great stats, and a well rounded applicant. Good luck. Chance me back ? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/582101-chance-carnegie-mellon-ed-i-ll-chance-back-if-ud-like.html

haha that was a really funny post.

and may i add: holy ___. if you don't get in, i'll be pretty shocked. essays, just make sure you display yourself as you truly are and you should get an acceptance letter.

wowzers

You're in in my opinion

apart from your GPA, you've basically maxed out all your categories :)
and it's not like your GPA is bad...as long as you've taken challenging classes (and the IB Diploma curicculum is if nothing else, challenging), you have damn good chances!
