fordham acccounting

how good is fordham accounting program? i know they are accredidated in business with AACSB but i know they aren't in accounting. so preferably people who go to fordham or are in accounting could help me out here?

i'm not in the accounting program (detest it in fact), but you could argue that accounting is really what keeps CBA alive. i believe they even have a 5 year program in which you can even get your cpa. not sure how that works, but it's supposed to meet the nys requirements for students to get their cpa and possibly a masters. they promote accounting heavily on freshman and sophomores during the advising sessions. they even have a big club in cba for it. they say the staff is supposed to be pretty good (though I'll never know since I've/I'll never take accounting courses besides the core requirements). they have a bunch of recruiters on campus for accounting majors. KPMG is a name that comes up a lot (I think because of alumni looking to bring in some Fordham grads).

if you haven't already looked here: College of Business Administration check it out. they talk about the 5yr program, recruiters, and some faculty as well.

I know someone who majored in accounting at Fordham. He got a job first and then went to school for his CPA. I think it was too expensive for him to continue without working but his mom told me he did find work fairly quickly.
My niece didn't go to Fordham but another accredited college and did the same thing. She got a job in W.DC and they paid for her masters. She owes them 3 years though and then can look elsewhere if she isn't happy.

I received my public accounting degree from Fordham and got my CPA. The CPA is administered by the AICPA. It's a national exam requiring passing four differnt parts in order to obtain the license. The licensure is adminstered at the state level and each state has their own requirements in regards to class work that must be met in order to be licensed in that state. If you are a student, speak with Professor Romeo. She's in charge of Undergraduate Accounting.

I'm not a student however i was accepted into their CBA
