Accepted because it was a safety school. 3.2 might seem low but my school is very very difficult and colleges know that. I took 3 APs and 1 honors. No rankings given but probably bottom 20% of class

Extra curriculars:

teach kids in Peru for 2 years. Taught kindergarteners English and math
4 years of going to Bronx and teaching 4th graders science
2 yrs tutoring

I am very confused. 35 ACT. 4.00/4.22 GPA, 1/180 (college-prep Jesuit high school). National Merit Semi-Finalist (Fordham listed as first choice). Excellent essays, ECs, recs, etc. Only received Dean’s Scholarship in my acceptance today. I had my heart set on Fordham, but I will not be able to afford it without the NMSF scholarship. Any advice?

@UDJ111 - contact them. I have a friend that was a NMSF and Fordham overlooked in in the scholarship process. They ended up giving her the scholarship. It should be a pretty guaranteed thing, so definitely call.

Strengths: My activities are very focused with my intended major (Neuroscience) and I am really passionate about what I want to pursue. Test scores and teacher recs.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: My stats are good for Fordham and my essay showed character.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted at Tulane, University of Alabama. Applying to a few Ivies, UChicago, Macalester, Kenyon, Rhodes, Smith, and USC.

General Comments: Very excited to receive the Semifinalists scholarship! Fordham seems like a really good choice. I’m planning to visit in the spring once I have some more decisions.
