Congrats Sylvan. Welcome to the Fordham family! If you need more money, file a FAFSA in January and ask for financial aid…loans, grants whatever.

Its a wonderful school with wonderful people. Fordham will challenge your son. Its a very academic school. Writing a LOT of papers. Lots and lots of very very bright students there, but not cutthroat.

Stats:[ul]

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: I don’t know how much it said about me specifically, but it definitely showed a strong interest in my major (Economics). Very well written and I like it a lot, although I think a person’s assessment of the essay would depend on their ideology. In short, IDK how admissions would view it. If they’re fiscally liberal, they would probably not like it.
[] ECs: Chess Club, Camerata Singers, Spring Musical, Quiz Bowl, orchestra/choir, NHS, German NHS
[] Teacher Recs: From my economics teacher, I did not see it but I’m sure it is great because he really likes me, I do well in his class & show very strong interest in econ
[] Counselor Rec: probably not good, she doesn’t know me aside from the “cheat sheet”
[] Hook (if any): first generation college
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: Pennsylvania
[] School Type: Public, probably about average, although with pretty significant grade inflation (way too many people with 4.0’s)
[] Ethnicity: White
[] Gender: Male
[/ul]Other Factors: General Comments: Was offered Dean’s scholarship; $10,000/more. Fordham is not my first choice but it’s certainly an option that I would be happy with if offered strong financial aid.
